I have as my desktop wallpaper the spectacular Cassini picture of Saturn backlit by the sun with a tiny Earth in the upper left corner. When was this picture taken (i.e. what date was it on Earth when the exposure was taken)?

Mark,

That image was taken on September 15, 2006. The part of the Earth `under' the spacecraft when it was taken was the East Africa.
